What is the process of creating my movie?
Once we receive your VHS Tapes, CD/DVD or photos we review all your footage analysing it minute by minute, and discuss with you the material. We want to make sure we get as much input from you as to what you would like to see in the finished film.
From our experience, an average hour of home video contains about 5-15 minutes of truly entertaining footage. We will give your our professional advice, but ultimately we will create the film you want to watch.
We will then discuss your musical choices. We can add any music that you wish, as long as you own it. (Copyright laws require that you own the music used in your film, so please send only original CDs.) We can also recommend music, and help you with the choices.
Then comes the fun part. We trim and clean up your video, picking and choosing only the good moments, and eliminating the boring bits. Once the DVD is made, we custom-design and create a label and a cover for your DVD.
Can I have normal photographs incorporated in my movie?Yes. If you send us either photographs to scan, e-mail them to us or send them on an SD card, we can build them into your DVD using transitions.
What type of formats can you convert?
To keep our prices low we encourage you to transfer your footage into a digital format eg avi, mov, wmv, mpeg files and burn to CD/DVD. Once you have copied your footage to CD/DVD, you can then mail us the disc and keep the original tapes. We understand that transferring the data to your computer maybe confusing. We are happy to assist you over the phone with the transfering process.
If you don't wish to transfer your own data, we are hapy to convert DV tapes, Video 8, DV Cam, DVDs, Hi8 and VHS for you.
These add a personal touch unlike anything else. They range from birth certificates, newborn hand/foot prints, & elementary school work to love letters, souvenirs, marriage certificate, & original music/poetry to name a few. Basically anything that is flat & not too large we can scan. The possibilities are endless.
Can I pick out my own music?
We can add any music that you wish, as long as you own it. (Copyright laws require that you own the music used in your film) We can also recommend music and help you with the choices.
Sure you can. But are you sure you really want to? Previewing your movie on the web doesn't give the same affect as seeing it on the TV. The quality and sound are usually poor and you can only see a segment of your movie.
The best part is getting together with your loved ones & all watching it together for the first time! If you still want to preview it, we'll send your a Login ID to access our Client Viewing Room.
What is the best way to ship my tapes, music and photos?
We highly recommend that you send everything by Registered Mail using Australia Post. Please ensure you keep your tracking number. When we return your items, we will issue you with a tracking number and pay for the return postage.
How long will it take for my project to be completed?
This will depend on the complexity of your project, with peak periods tend to be around Christmas and Easter. We do however aim to complete a movie and ship it and your materials back to you within 20 days of their receipt. For Memorial films, we appreciate the urgency and can turn them around in 48hours.
Will my DVD play on any player?
We record onto DVD +RW which can be played on most modern DVD players. If you have any difficulties, try playing it on a friend or neighbour's player. If you can't get it to play on any machine, contact us by e-mail and we will do our best to resolve the problem.
What forms of payment do you accept?
Payment may be made by several methods: Cash or cheque on delivery or Electronic Funds Transfer.
Can I be involved in the editing process?
This is your movie, and you know what you want to see in it. We will have discussions before and during the editing process, listen to your input and find out from you what are your expectations. If you are not sure which direction to go - we will gladly give you our professional advice. And if you have no idea what you want, and prefer to leave it all to us - we can do that too. Either way - we guarantee you'll love your movie.
